Integrated Electrical Solutions is a licensed New Jersey electrical contractor founded by Corey Gilman. With more than 14 years of experience, we provide residential and commercial electrical services throughout Bergen County, including Hackensack, Paramus, Teaneck, Ridgewood, Fort Lee, Englewood, Fair Lawn, Mahwah, and surrounding communities. Bergen County is New Jersey's most populous county, and its housing reflects a century of growth: pre-war colonials and Tudors, dense two-family homes, post-war Cape Cods and split-levels, and large custom homes in the northern towns. Our work here centers on bringing older electrical systems up to modern demand, handling multi-family and tight-lot jobs, and protecting homes in flood-prone areas along the Hackensack and Passaic Rivers.
We handle the full range of electrical work Bergen County homes and businesses need, with particular depth in these areas:
Many Bergen homes still run on 60- or 100-amp services, fuse boxes, or Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels. We upgrade services to 200 amps, and to 320 or 400 amps for the larger homes common in Franklin Lakes, Saddle River, Alpine, and Upper Saddle River. Jobs include meter work, grounding and bonding, labeling, and coordination with the utility and inspector.
Knob-and-tube and cloth-insulated wiring are still common in pre-war homes in Ridgewood, Teaneck, Englewood, Hackensack, and Rutherford. We also find aluminum branch wiring from the late 1960s and early 1970s and ungrounded circuits throughout the county. We plan rewires to limit damage to plaster and original trim, and do partial rewiring during renovations.
Two-family homes are common in Garfield, Lodi, Cliffside Park, Hackensack, and Bergenfield. We handle separate meters and services, unit-by-unit panel upgrades, common-area lighting, and the electrical work owners need for rental inspections and certificates of occupancy.
Level 2 home electric vehicle charging is growing fast across the county. We run the load calculation, evaluate the panel, install a hardwired or plug-in 40- or 50-amp circuit, and pull the permit. Older 100-amp homes usually need capacity work first.
Tripping breakers, flickering lights, warm outlets, or partial power loss. We find the actual cause rather than resetting the breaker and leaving.
Interior and exterior lighting, GFCI-protected outdoor receptacles, landscape lighting, and pool and spa electrical work that meets bonding and GFCI requirements.
Maintenance and installation of hardwired, interconnected smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, including the certifications commonly required at resale.
Tenant fit-outs, lighting retrofits, dedicated equipment circuits, and service upgrades for offices, retail, and restaurants along the Route 4, Route 17, and Route 46 corridors.
We prioritize urgent calls such as total or partial power loss, burning smells, sparking, and hot or buzzing panels. We also regularly serve Ocean, Monmouth, Mercer, Passaic, Essex, and other New Jersey counties. If your town isn't listed, call — chances are we cover it.
We also regularly serve parts of Essex, Union, Somerset, Burlington, and other New Jersey counties. If your town isn’t listed, just call — chances are we cover it.
Bergen County's mix of very old housing, dense neighborhoods, and large newer homes creates a recognizable set of issues. We regularly evaluate and correct the following:
Ridgewood, Teaneck, Englewood, Rutherford, Hackensack, and Glen Rock have many homes from this era. Knob-and-tube wiring, 60-amp services, fuse boxes, and decades of add-on circuits are common. Plaster walls and original woodwork call for careful routing.
Much of Paramus, Fair Lawn, Bergenfield, Dumont, and River Edge was built in this period. We frequently find Federal Pacific Stab-Lok and Zinsco panels, marginal 100-amp services, aluminum branch wiring, and incomplete grounding. Many insurers flag these panels at renewal or resale.
In Garfield, Lodi, Cliffside Park, and parts of Hackensack, two-family homes often share undersized services or have outdated separate meters. Tight lots and narrow side yards complicate service relocation and new equipment placement.
Moonachie, Little Ferry, Lodi, Garfield, and other towns along the Hackensack, Saddle, and Passaic Rivers have seen serious flooding in recent storms. Panels and equipment in basements are vulnerable, and flood-zone rules can require raising panels and disconnects above flood elevation during upgrades or rebuilds.
Northern Bergen towns like Franklin Lakes, Saddle River, Alpine, and Upper Saddle River have large homes with heavy loads: multiple HVAC zones, pools, generators, and EV chargers. These often need 320- or 400-amp service and careful load planning.
Across the county, EV chargers, heat pumps, induction ranges, and finished basements push older services past their limits. Load calculations and service upgrades are common follow-ups to any assessment. These are not abstract risks. They affect insurability, resale, renovation plans, and day-to-day safety. A proper evaluation identifies what is present and what actually needs attention.
We have worked across New Jersey for more than 14 years, and Bergen County is one of our core service areas. Our New Jersey electrical contractor license is #34EB01852700. Local factors we routinely handle include:
We perform the evaluation and the corrective work under one licensed contractor. Recommendations are based on observed conditions, load calculations, and code, not an upsell list. When a panel is serviceable and capacity is adequate, we say so.
We regularly work in Hackensack, Paramus, Teaneck, Ridgewood, Fort Lee, Englewood, Fair Lawn, Garfield, Bergenfield, Mahwah, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Glen Rock, Tenafly, Lodi, Rutherford, and surrounding communities. If your town is not listed, call — we cover the entire county.
Yes. We pull the required electrical permits and coordinate inspections with the construction office in the town where the work is done.
Yes. We assess how much remains and whether a full or phased rewire makes sense, and we route new wiring to limit damage to plaster and trim.
Yes. We handle separate services and meters, unit panel upgrades, and the electrical items that come up in rental inspections and CO applications.
Often, yes. Depending on the flood zone and the scope of work, the panel and disconnects may need to be raised above flood elevation. We check the requirements before planning the job.
It depends on your service size and existing loads. Many 100-amp homes need an upgrade; many 200-amp homes do not. A load calculation tells us which applies.
Absolutely. We provide full residential and commercial electrical services in every county we cover.
